Happy International Waffles Day!

March 25th is International Waffles Day, so what better way to celebrate than with some of the very best waffles in London.

Originally made with wine, the concept of waffles has been known since the 14th century. Since then it has evolved into the hot grid-iron pressed, fluffy delightfulness we have today. Whether it’s for breakfast, brunch or dinner, waffles know no time frame giving the perfect base for both sweet and savoury dishes to satisfy all of your cravings all day long.

Restaurants across the city are all trying to give their personal touch on the comfort food classic, so we’ve rounded up the best places for waffles in London for you to celebrate International Waffle Day!

  • Duck and Waffle

Waffles are usually associated with casual comfort food, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be fancy. Of course 1st on the list of locations should be Duck and Waffle

Considering it’s the highest restaurant in the UK, on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, you can’t beat a brunch with a side of some of the best views of the capital. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the waffles are a must-order here. The restaurant’s signature Elvis Waffles with chocolate, peanut butter, banana brulee and chantilly cream really shouldn’t be missed. Fancy something savoury? Try the waffle with crispy confit duck leg topped with a fried duck egg and drizzled in mustard maple syrup. You won’t be disappointed.

Now the restaurant expanded from Kensington to Carnaby, Soho and all the way to Shoreditch.

The mini chain specialises in American comfort food offering a menu of mouthwatering stacked burgers, classic mac ‘n’ cheese, and of course, chicken and waffles. At Dirty Bones, you will find crispy fried chicken served on a freshly-baked waffle, accompanied by a shot of maple syrup so that you can adjust the extent of sticky and sweet to your own preference.
